    I don’t know much about how it works, but will Elon “switch it off” the same way that he prevented Starlink from being used by Ukraine in Crimea? If he has the capability to do so but does not choose to do so, that seems a red flag.

      He didn’t switch if off over Crimea, it was never on.

      The author retracted the claim he turned it off.

      However, now that the DoD is is control of Starlink for Ukraine, I believe it is on over Crimea.

      At this point, the only way to prevent Russians from using it is to ensure only dishes sold to the Ukrainian government work in that region by serial number vs any dish, and to maybe require some extra authentication, say a rolling authorization code only given to the Ukranian military?

      If Russians capture a Ukrainian dish it’d only work as long as the rolling authorization period then, short of a spy or PoW giving up the codes

        How about default “off” over Ukraine, and then the Ukrainian government can choose which accounts they want activated?
