Keep in mind that there are three operations with this lock which I find to be fundamental to my needs:

  1. Nipple lock causes exterior handle to become completely disconnected - it rotates without restriction, doing nothing.
  2. When deadbolt is engaged, turning the interior handle retracts both the latch AND the deadbolt at the same time, allowing single-hand, single-turn panic-opening of a fully secured door.
  3. When the deadbolt is engaged, using the key on the exterior lock to retract the deadbolt ALSO retracts the latch at the same time, allowing you to completely open the door with just a turn of the key, no need to turn the door handle itself.

This door lock has a direct connection between the deadbolt and the main latch, allowing for several features that I have never seen in a North American door lock. I have also reached out to North American Schlage dealers, they have never seen anything like this over here. I am looking for several units that have those same three features, and have been looking for nearly two decades now.

If anyone has a suggestion, please also include a link to the manufacturer’s product page so I can see if your suggestion has the same options as this lock.
