Good. Fuck that asshole.
Hmmm
Who the fuck would be dumb enough to do that in PORTLAND?!
I live in Toronto, and when you live in a place that’s accepting of something like transgender people, the bigots feel attacked and become more vocal. The racists in Toronto get pretty vocal and I always wonder what the hell you’re doing in one of the most multi cultural cities in the world if you don’t like others
It was also a single occupant bathroom with a locking door. No real reason for it to even be gendered.
You don’t have to drive far outside of Portland to see Trump flags flying on along the highway.
Portland and the surrounding areas are this weird dichotomy of super left-wing and super right-wing people all in the same place. Hence why you tend to get a lot of Proud Boys vs Antifa demonstrations/standoffs/fights there.
I’m curious what the legality of this really is.
What rights do businesses have to dictate which restrooms their patrons use?
Probably none. The whole bathroom debate has been legally dubious from the outset.
That’s weird. They can refuse people using their bathrooms if they don’t pay, I figured denying them for other reasons was also on the table.
How could it be? Are they checking birth certificates?
I mean, they shouldn’t even have to check birth certificates.
What’s stopping a business from saying you can’t use their restrooms just because they feel like it?
Well potentially nothing? Until someone says “why?” and then it becomes gender discrimination
Does a business even have to answer that question?
“I wasn’t trying to misgender her — I had to look up what transgender was in the dictionary,” McIntyre said. “We were just arguing over spilt milk.”
This bartender is definitely a bigot. Like I’m to believe you don’t know what transgender people are in 2024 and you work at a bar? Yeah right
