They aren’t Trudeau, and they’re good at manipulating our dumbest with American-style politics
Part of it is the pendulum of Canadian politics. The Liberals have been in power for a long time and enough people in the “great Canadian middle” have swung over to the Conservative side. That makes the prospects of another Liberal government forming in the next election are slim.
But also, yes, there are some people who hate Trudeau on principle. My holidays this year were exhausting.

As for who is leading the polls, the grass is always greener on the other side of the House of Commons.
While I honour the secret ballet and assure you that my vote will never be known, I love arguing that one should take advantage of the fact that Canada does not have a two-party system. Let the other guys have a turn at screwing up Canada, for a change.
People who are dissatisfied with their day-to-day lives blame our Federal Government, who happens to be the Liberals right now.
But the reality is that Conservative provincial leaders are the ones who’ve made their lives miserable. Housing, education, transportation, healthcare, cost of living… all provincial matters.
Conservative voters just don’t know/want to know this fact.

He’s doing the typical conservative move of saying one thing to reporters and then his office releasing a statement saying another. That way the people who don’t like porn can refer to his answer to the question and those who do can refer to his office’s statement.
More like “And how are you going to verify the age?” “Jeez, am I the one that has to think of everything??”
Jack up my groceries, increase my rent, then take my porn away to cap it off…
Oh no… that’s not the last. He’ll then cut taxes for the corporations and the rich. Cut healthcare and government services because he’ll say “we have to balance budget”. Then increase subsidies to corporations to “create jobs”. Conservative scam continues.
Don’t forget about not actually balancing the until some point where they decide “they have no choice” but to end or sell off a vital federal asset or service.
I hope he makes this a key election topic - it’ll be wildly unpopular.
A lot of attention on this and not on the fact Pollievre just said trans women shouldn’t be able to use women’s washrooms and change rooms.
For what it’s worth, they were probably right next to each other on the same evangelical wishlist.
