No, a mouse would just let you control the camera. You’ll need keyboard for movement.
No you have to install a USB Steering wheel of course or at least a Gamepad.
I know it’s a great gamepad, but if I see someone steering my bus with a F710 I’m getting out of there.
A mouse is all you need. One key to accelerate, one to break, the mouse wheel for shifting - move the mouse to steer.

Yeah, definitely don’t just stick something in, use protection. If you want to use an unknown public charge, there are USB data blocker adapters you can buy.
You get slow charging (since the devices can’t negotiate), but it’s better than an infection.
