Most Toilet Paper, especially brands like Charmin from P&G, are cut from old-growth forest, which is way worse for our planet than losing new growth.

There are brands like https://cloudpaper.co that offer Bamboo-based TP, which can be had for nearly the same price when bought in bulk:

  • Charmin (Walmart): 24 mega rolls (286 sheets each), $26.48 ($0.0038 per sheet)
  • CloudPaper: 80 rolls (300 sheets each), $91.99 ($0.0039 per sheet)

So just $0.0001 more per square, or $0.03 per roll more.

While there are many other brands out there, including some that use recycled paper, this was the best one we found from a renewable standpoint (and price). It’s about the same as Charmin Extra Strong, but with a bit more “springiness” to it.

This reads a lot like an advertisement, even if that wasn’t the intent.

Assuming good faith, in the future maybe bring up the topic only, and if you make recommendations then don’t push for one brand in particular?

Mainly the fact that the recycling process itself is quite intensive, especially the bleaching required. Bamboo brands (no matter which you chose) seemed to just be a better option because of that.
