This even funnier now that they’ve come full circle to shutting down Windows 10 - Our Last Operating System!
Have you heard of our lord and saviour Arch Linux BTW
“Is that like Jesus?”
“No, it’s not like Christianity at all. Nobody who’s ever talked about Arch has ever gotten nailed”
Oh now I understand :(
What about burned on stake for witchcraft?
yet
Obviously only real linux users use Void, you can tell because they have the best OS-Chan mascot.
Nonsense…real linux users use Slackware. Why bother with all these fancy new distros when the original is still going strong?
Obligatory:
Real Linux users actually compile linux from scratch without a network connection and just the linux from scratch cd.
What if I told you back in the day of floppy disk linux installs I used slackware because the redhat prompt was plain but slackware had a more colorful command prompt.
I’d likely believe you since I was doing the same thing. That, and my buddy was running a MUD on a Slackware server so I had someone to bug when I hit a wall.
Get on the NixOS train, loser. Arch is too easy. /s
Not entirely the same.
nix
is a build-tool, package manager and DSL. NixOS is the OS built on top of that. https://nixlang.wiki/ explains itI just think more people should use Nix packages
BTW!!!
Man I really like OpenSUSE Tumbleweed with KDE you all should try it
Kind of reframes the whole being a vegetarian thing…
Well, did you know I’m vegetarian and used to run Arch? If you could show me your fridge and computer, please, I’ll fix them for you!
I don’t have a PC right now but I’m a Mint guy.
This answer is stupid. I don’t think it’s unusual for a non-tech savvy friend who heard about Linux to ask for an opinion.
I feel called out here lol. Granted, I’ve only recommended it to people I know who complained about the performance of windows. Linux is so much more optimised
This was funny the first time I saw it, back when windows 10 came out.
it’s still new for gentoo users who started installing that day and decided to go with openoffice from source.
