Is it just me, or is it weird that this season has adaptations from at least 2 manga that have slowed to a crawl? I get that most anime are just advertisements for manga, but why bother when the manga is barely putting out new chapters?

I don’t know which anime those are, but it’s not only about advertising the manga,

Anime are made by a production committee, which consists of various companies that put money into it and expect something in return. The source material’s publisher is just one of them, and they’re the only ones interested in boosting the source material. But even they might be doing it for some other purpose, like the author’s next work or a spinoff.

Said no one: “Yay! Another CARDFIGHT!! Series!”

Also, why are they making a 2nd season of Tskukimichi? Someone just had to continue (finish?) the extremely low effort story‽

I wrote elsewhere about my thoughts on Tsukimichi season 2. I am a big fan of the source material and agree that the first season was alright at best. I think part of it is that the first parts of the story are probably its weakest, but then the anime was a very mediocre adaptation. So, it was a mediocre adaptation of not great parts of the story which added up to a very generic feeling isekai.

For the second season (which I was surprised to see happen tbh), there is a new studio and they announced it will be 2 cours. So, I am hoping that better source material combined with a renewed investment in the production will add up to a better season of anime this time around. We will see!

At the end of the day though, if the first season didn’t connect with you at all, season 2 probably won’t either.
