Electron is a big no for me. I’ll stick to NewsFlash.

I personally prefer Newsflash because the main dev of Fluent is weirdly adamant about not implementing either customizable shortcuts or the standard vim-style navigation that almost all desktop RSS readers have had since Google Reader included them

I use the app daily, and I like it overall. It syncs well with my selfhosted freshrss server, and it works across platforms. HOWEVER, I do wish that I could manage my subscriptions with it, and having to set how each feed opens by default is rage inducing. In GNOME it would be able to be docked like other apps. And there is an arbitrary gigantic margin in some modes. etc etc.

I have been using this combined with Fluent Reader Lite for Android and a self-hosted FreshRSS-server to sync my feeds. Just recently found a workflow that works well for me: I will browse my feeds on my phone once in a while (very productive bathroom breaks…), showing only unread stories. I star any story I want to read later, mark the rest as read. With Fluent Reader on Linux set to only show starred, and I can then pick and choose whatever story I want to read from there on a bigger screen. Whenever I go some days without checking, I will just mark all spammy news outlets as read without checking the 400 unread stories.

I like it a lot, and the only issue I have with it is the windows style titlebar
