For All Mankind, Severance, Silo, Slow Horses, Foundation, Pachinko (my personal favourite), I could go on.
Apple TV+ may not have many shows. But their quality ratio is unmatched.
And Ted Lasso got boring after the first season 🤷♂️
Morning Show too. When we’re looking for a new thing to watch we always check Apple first to see if there’s anything new. Netflix drops heaps of garbage on their service then cancels the good stuff. Prime has a lot of really expensive but hollow productions. Zaslav is stripping HBO for parts. Apple doesn’t put out a lot but I can usually trust the stuff they put on there.

While I persist with Netflix for budget, films and a few perrenial favourites… they don’t half pump the garbage. Great true crime, and just as much half baked shit-podcast-now-a-shit-series true crime :/
I agreed with you right until the last sentence.
Slow horses back at the end of the month!
Acapulco ❤️❤️
After Invasion season one I vowed never to come back to the show.
But I’ve got to say, season two goes pretty hard despite some really cringy moments here and there.
Ted Lasso got boring after the first season because they made everyone happy and bubbly. It worked so much better when Ted was the lone optimist.
Severance is so good
It was. I don’t like this service, but this was a fantastic show.
Please remember to enjoy all shows equally
Invasion isn’t a bad show but ignoring the fact that See, Silo, Severance, Slow Horses, Foundation, For All Mankind, and most other shows on Apple TV exist is just dumb. Ted Lasso was mid after season 1 imo but Apple TV has an unmatched quality level with most of their library. I dislike Apple but they’ve been making banger after banger compared to every other streaming service and I hope Monarch is just as good as everything else.
Severance was one of the best shows to come out in the last few years.
I don’t like the other but Silo and Severance?! C’mon they are amazing! I do like Invasion too so IDK what’s this meme is about either
Invasion season one was terrible honestly. I just couldn’t understand why I even bothered to continue watching.
When season two came out I gave it another chance and was blown away.
I feel like the difference in Apple TVs shows versus other streamers is the cinematic quality.
It reminds me of the days when the difference between network tv shows and premium cable shows was distinct.
I can’t seem to find the exact words but it feels like Apple TVs programming is just more polished, whether the plot/writing/pacing etc. is not great it still feels like a polished product that fell short.
Apple understands that trying to cut every corner to reduce cost is a recipe for garbage. More than that, they’re not afraid to spend what’s necessary to achieve better than “good”. I think they’re evil in other ways for sure, but I respect this about them. It shows in everything* they produce.
- Except for the butterfly keyboards…
I really enjoyed For All Mankind.
New season just dropped.
Slow Horses is phenomenal! One of my favourite series in years
Fundation, severance and tales from the loop.
At other hand nice meme and Ted Lasso is a must
Silo is also on apple+
Very meh. I first episodes that followed the books more closely were pretty good but later they just remove all the good bits and what’s left is just not that interesting.
Did Apple pick up Tales from the Loop?
Just looked it up, looks like it’s still Amazon. Could be missing something though.
No, they did not. It’s Amazon Prime.
All of those can be watched in a month, though. It’s not enough to sustain an entire subscription. Also, foundation kind of sucked (nothing happened… maybe it will in the future, but also maybe it won’t)
Tales from the loop is actually on Amazon prime, lol.
“For all mankind” is far from flawless but I quite enjoyed it so far.
You haven’t watched Shrinking then…
Invasion is decent
Foundation is super good
Slow horses is super good
Honestly a lot of great shows recently have been on 🍎+
Can’t wait for Silo S2!
There are some great shows on Apple TV but for me Foundation is not one of them. I really enjoyed The Afterpart.
Yeah, it was kind of boring, right? Very little happens. The entire first series should have been 2-3 episodes at the most.
How have you not tried Silo?!?
Not enough shoutouts for Shrinking here…
Ted Lasso is definitely holding up the platform, no disagreement, but there’s some other great content there as well. Prehistoric Planet, too.
Ted Lasso and Shrinking are both made by Bill Lawrence, who also made Spin City, Scrubs, and Cougar Town.
It’s not Apple that makes the shows good.
Apple licenses the content from the creators – that’s true of almost every network and many film distributors as well.
Few distributors make their content in house. 'Netflix Original ’ doesn’t mean it was made by ‘Netflix Studios’ – they don’t exist. What happened was (for a series) that either a complete season or a pilot was shopped around, and Netflix bought the (exclusive) rights, which made that piece of content a Netflix Original. For films, they have usually already been made and are in a limited theatrical run (eg. Festivals) or are being shopped around privately. I imagine a limited few have distribution deals made prior to production, but that’s still not ‘Netflix’ (or Apple) making that content.
Apples launch content (eg. Ted Lasso) was produced to prop up the platform, but the method by which that content was discovered, funded and then licensed is not much different from how a traditional network (like NBC) might function.
Severance is brilliant
Shrinking was really fire
Shrinking is right up there with Ted Lasso - the only two shows I subscribed to Apple TV for. Lol
I would say Severance, For All Mankind, & Foundation are all good to great. Apple TV has been doing a great job with the quality vs. quantity compared to other services. I tried to get into Ted Lasso but it wasn’t for me.
Foundation got a little boring tbf but I still watch
Tell me you haven’t read the foundation books without saying so
“It’s impossible to like two different things.”
“I want the exact same thing that I imagined inside my head when I read the books, how do they not get it!?”
Read and loved them since I was a kid. I understand that different mediums have different requirements and adapting stories from the 40s/50s might necessitate some changes. I definitely have my issues with it, but I am able to enjoy it for what it is and not pretend it’s a 1 to 1 version of the books. Life is too short to get upset about entertainment.

Lessons in Chemistry is fire.
Foundation and Silo are phenomenal
Severance and Silo you mean. Foundation has been partly great and partly terrible. Any plotline with Brother Day has been fantastic. The others have been weak or, in the case of Salvor, terrible. Overall, the foundation is worth a watch, but it is not phenomenal, in my opinion. Not like the other shows.
And Severance. One of my most-awaited TV show returns.
I enjoyed Mythic Quest, I have not seen the latest season though
I’ve been watching and enjoying black bird recently. Never had apple TV and I got 3months free with my phone so logged on to watch Ted lasso then noticed this.
I never hear that show mentioned, but it’s excellent.
It shows just how little impact being on Apple TV has compared to the other streaming services, I’d put Black Bird well above Dahmer for a true crime drama but Dahmer being on Netflix makes it so much more relevant.
Invasion is good?
I might still be watching invasion if it weren’t so damn dark, as in, I’m watching a black tv screen for 30% of each episode. Really enjoyed lasso, foundation, and currently watching for all mankind which is also quite good so far.
Apple tried to give me a free month of Apple TV and I tried to give it back to them.
