Zelensky visited the factory flanked by Pennsylvania Democrats, including Gov. Josh Shapiro (D). It is common for governors to appear at such events in their state. Johnson and Comer, however, said appearing with a political figure who was briefly a contender to serve as Harris’s running mate made the stop political in nature.

Pissy that the Ambassador didn’t involve Republicans in a tour, while Republicans have been doing everything they can to force the Ambassador’s home country to lose a war of aggression against them.

Why the fuck WOULD the Ambassador invite Republicans?

Meanwhile Trump tries his best to interfere with Ukraine aid and has been since the beginning. Fuck him and the other Putin dick riders in Congress. You get what you deserve.

Very unlikely. Personally compromised by russia, possible. Close to people compromised by russia and thus his decisions are effected by russian interests, I’d say almost probably but not quite to the 90% threshold.

It’s really hard not to think / conclude that. Even looking past different political ideologies.

Meanwhile Russia’s spraying the country with a firehose of lies, and illegally funneling money in to influence the election. IIRC Johnson got a hefty campaign donation from Russia, which he had to return when it was noticed.

But no, this is clearly the real outrage. Just because he didn’t endorse any politician or party and didn’t appear with any presidential candidate doesn’t mean that this wasn’t obviously election interference. Just look what he’s doing, reminding people that Ukraine exists and shaking hands with American workers who build the shells that are helping to save his country. What could be more sinister?

For real though, the pro-Putin wing is desperate to spin this story because it clearly shows how full of shit they are when they bitch about spending money on Ukraine instead of keeping it in the US. Supporting Ukraine isn’t just good for upholding the international order, safeguarding allies, and degrading Russia’s capabilities for remarkably little cost, but it’s also supporting domestic manufacturing jobs.

Mike is barely in control of his party, just ignored them and Donnie by “funding the government” (what a controversy!) and is probably about to lose his job (either by his party, or by election). Zelenskyy should not pay this stunt much attention; just have someone privately tell them what they want to hear, and carry on.

I don’t agree with speaker gooning dad on much, if anything, including his rationale for this request.

But, I do think it was a bad move from a policy and governing perspective to have a foreign leader touring our weapon factories that are supporting their hot war with a major geostrategic rival of ours.

I’m not saying this for domestic political reasons, or moral reasons, I think from a pure realpolitik perspective of someone who supports Ukraine, it wasn’t a smart move.

But, I could be wrong, maybe it helps Ukraine in the long-term, or maybe it has no impact at all. Maybe we’ll never know, I just know that doesn’t sit right with me personally.

Regardless, my personal feelings aren’t relevant to, and I genuinely hope this does end up being a net positive action.

I actually felt it was…odd as well.

Just out of place. I support Ukraine and believe we should be contributing to their war effort but felt like his visit was ill-timed, especially given the fact that Pennsylvania is a swing state and he was visiting an ammunition factory which likely has MAGAs in it.

Honestly, I am surprised he didn’t have any incidents.

He doesn’t give a shit about touring the facility, he’s whining he and his compatriots were justifiably relegated to the kids table because they aren’t serious, responsible adults or politicians. Fuck Mike Johnson.
