Lemmy.ml bans anyone and anything that has to do with even slightly anti-Russia or anti China sentiments.
Posted a comment the other day that China was still supporting Russia who were killing innocent people and got banned, then one of the admins responded, and then my comment was removed.
Seems like a super good area to have open and honest discussions and debates.
I am just sick and tired of people trying to force there beliefs on others. It feels like every other post there are people complaining about the free market. I genuinely could care less.
I think they are authoritarians over any other ideology they claim to hold. The second most important aspect of their beliefs also does not relate to socialism/communism, which is that a government be “anti-west.” That is why they have “uncritical support” for Putin, who isn’t even remotely leftist, let alone communist. It’s all bullshit.
Man that’s the weirdest thing too… like in what world is Russia remotely communist? They’re not even socialist they’re just a good old-fashioned fascist dictatorship.
It has nothing to with communism. Totalitarianism is more approriate. They do not allow any opinion except for the approved ones. They do not allow free discussions. They do not alllow critisism toward China or Russia.
That is not what communism is about, but that is what communism often manifests into when human greed and power hunger come into play though.
Communism is only possible though authoritarian governments. And even with that it collapses as basic things like farm maintenance fails to happen.
I feel like the communists on Lemmy go out of there way to reject any facts or beliefs that are remotely against communism. That is why they remove anything anti China or Russia. They see China as this Utopia and refuse to see anything else.

Only if you’re a very narrow definition of a very specific kind of communist. You’ll still be ostracized if you choose the wrong one.
Only if you support China blindly.
