Dude, you’re making someone work when they’re probably pretty sick.

Why not just tell them to take the time they need to rest, and don’t worry about the PTO?

No one’s making you punish someone for being sick.

We aren’t MAKING THEM. We OFFERED THEM the ability to work from home so they could GET PAID.

That’s what happens when you use all your PTO going to Mexico for two weeks the moment your 90 days is done, and taking long weekends. I don’t make those rules.

They also didn’t work at all when it was too snowy to drive in. It’s a pattern.

Sure sounds like you enforce them though.

When I got COVID, my boss told me to just rest until I was better and explicitly told me not to put in PTO because there’s better things to use it for.

Sorry, but the way you’re angry at someone for not being productive while sick makes me assume you’re in the wrong here.

But I don’t enforce them. I’d prefer they didn’t work sick. The point I failed to make, by bringing up that on this occasion (of many) they are sick, was that not everyone is capable of working from home.

I will strive to proofread better in the future.
